プロフィール：

1992年米国生まれ育ち。名古屋大学大学院国際言語文化研究科卒。2013年に留学で初来日し日本の風景に魅された。2015年に大学卒業後宮崎県で英語講師・国際交流委員として活躍し、仕事のストレス発散で弾丸旅行にどハマり、日本を巡りながら写真を撮り始めた。2022年に名古屋大学大学院を卒業後外資系金融リサーチ会社の入社で上京してたら東京のシティライフに圧倒された為、逆に人が居ない場所で「ちっぽけさ」を強調しながら「別に自慢せんでいい」と言うスタイルで写真に挑み。風景、親友のポートレートを中心に撮り、『切ない』『慕情』『詫寂』というテーマを意識しながらいつものような日常生活の麗しさを強調し一枚一枚でつかむ写真家。

趣味が余りにも多く、カメラ以外に日本小説・エッセー読書、料理、動画編集、音楽・お笑い番組・映画鑑賞、文房具屋さん巡り、格闘ゲーム（主にスマブラや鉄拳）、奥さんとネタ作り・キャンプ等等が大好き

Born in 1992 in the southern US, Andrew moved to Japan upon graduating from the University of North Carolina Charlotte after falling in love with the country during a study abroad experience. Feeling the stress of work, it was at that time he decided to take up photography to provide an outlet for his troubles. Through his travel, landscape, and portrait work his photos explore the themes of yearning, ephemerality, and the fleetingness of life. Capturing of slices of everyday life is what ultimately keeps him engaged in the photographic medium, with photos of a mountain road or the red leaves of a Japanese Maple Tree being a few of his personal favorites. In this age it is easy to enthrall oneself in the flashy, exaggerated, and grandiose, but through his works he hopes to show that beauty and wonder can be found in even the simplest of things.

Upon graduating with a master’s degree in linguistics and cultural studies from Nagoya University in 2022, Andrew moved to Tokyo, Japan where he currently works as a freelance photographer and full time market analyst for a fintech data company.
